Angela Render has been designing and maintaining web sites for over a decade. She is a self-taught programmer who started out creating websites for herself, then moved on to programming for others. She was the Web Editorial Assistant for Smithsonian Magazine for two years before she was promoted to Web Developer. During that time, she received many commendations for her performance under pressure.

When her daughter was born in 2003, she gave up her position to become a full-time mom. After four years of serving selected "naptime" clients, Angela decided it was time to expand her client list. By 2009, she was so busy that she enlisted the aid of her husband and founded Thunderpaw Web Development, a full-service web development company and one of the few in the world that offers, graphics design, programming, search engine optimization, copywriting/copyediting, and back-end DNS, email, and hosting support.

Angela's organization skills and attention to detail have made her an invaluable part of any organization she has worked with. Her speedy response time, enthusiasm, ability to focus and unshakable confidence make her a key player on any team. Her adaptability has served both her clients and former employers time and again.

After years of working with and advising marketing companies, Angela broadened her area of expertise to include internet marketing. Determined to share these skills, she began teaching classes at The Writers' Center in 2007. She has since taught programming and graphics editing to underprivileged girls through Passion For Learning's GRRL Tech, and has been featured as a speaker at Maryland Writers' Association meetings and at their 21st annual conference, Balticon 42 and 43, and the 12th annual Bay to Ocean Writers' Conference.

Prior to her career in web development, Angela worked as an airline electrical parts account manager and a costume designer. She graduated with honors from George Mason University in 1993 with a bachelor of arts degree in history and a minor in music. Her internship was spent at Chancellorsville Battlefield Museum. Even then, her computer skills were brought to the fore when she assisted the curator with database management and instructed the curator on how to update the museum's database.

In her spare time, she is driven to write and published her first novel, Forged By Lightning: A Novel of Hannibal and Scipio, in the spring of 2006. Her short story, "The Dryad" was featured in the Maryland Writers' Association's 2008 Anthology, New Lines from the Old Line State, she has a regular column in Writers' Journal called "Computer Business," and her workbook, Marketing for Writers: A Practical Workbook was released in January of 2009. She and her husband researched, renovated and decorated a circa 1894 Victorian house, then wrote and published the history of the house. She has raced sports cars and has been a student of the martial arts for fifteen years. She enjoys being girls with her daughter, traveling, and gardening.
