CityLit Festival Redux

I had the pleasure of a table at the 2009 CityLit Festival on April 18 at the Enoch Pratt Free Library. it was a fantastic event with great readers and fascinating vendors. Several highlights included hearing the New Handel Children’s Choir perform and hearing the teenage winners of a poetry contest read their work.

At Risk Middle School Girls Update

to Teach At Risk Middle School Girls in Montgomery County,” I embarked this past fall on a new teaching experience. Through Passion for Learning’s GRRL Tech, Girls Really, Really Love Technology, I took on a classroom full of 6th and 7th grade girls with the intent of teaching them web programming.

You’ll be happy to know they didn’t tear me to pieces.
